Extreme Mountain Climbing for Abs

Michael Andreula from Dynamic Intensity has taken Mountain Climber exercises and turned them up a notch. He performs a whole body workout that hits the shoulders, chest, triceps and especially the core. He calls them Everest Climbers as in Mount Everest. They take “Mountain Climbers” to a whole other level. Many people who attempt to do Mountain Climbers are cheating by making small movements in their legs.

You start by keeping your chest pushed out, and your hands down. You want to hit your the lower muscle fibers in your chest. You need to keep your core tight when you perform the exercise.

You start off with your fists or your palms on the ground, your chest is pushed out and your shoulders are pushed back. When you perform the exercise, don’t just take small steps. Instead, bring your feet all the way up to your chest level. Keep your muscles tight and switch legs. You will be tempted to move your butt up in the air – don’t. Keep your hips low to the ground.

The movement is going to be quick, like an explosion in your hips. It is going to work your whole body.

There you have it. Simple Everest Mountain Climbers. You can do it anywhere. Do it quick. Good posture, chest out, don’t let your butt go up.

Mike Andreula has a popular MP3 workout program called 1 Hour Kickboxing Guided Workout. Checkout his website at www.michaelandreula.com.
